T-MO schedule not working? How to fix it

Written by Sam Hills | Oct 7, 2026

Your T-MO is not following its schedule? Here is what is going on.

You have set up a heating schedule for your electric underfloor heating in the T-MO app, but the temperature is not doing what you expected. Or you turned the heating up, and a while later it went back down on its own. These are some of the most common questions we hear about the T-MO, and the good news is that the thermostat is usually doing exactly what it was asked to do.

This guide explains how T-MO schedules work, how to make a change by hand, and how to use your thermostat if you would rather not use the app day to day.

What is going on?

The T-MO can run a weekly schedule that you create in the T-MO app. Three simple rules explain nearly every "schedule not working" tech support call that we receive:

The schedule only runs when it is switched on. In the app, the switch next to the schedule is green when it is running and red when it is off. When it is off, the thermostat just holds its current temperature.

Switching a schedule on does not change the temperature straight away. The new temperature arrives at the next scheduled change. If it is 07:00, the thermostat is at 17°C and the schedule changes to 20°C at 08:00, it stays at 17°C until 08:00.

A change made by hand lasts until the next scheduled change. Turn your underfloor heating up on the thermostat in the app, and it holds that temperature until the next scheduled change. Then the schedule takes over again.

Step-by-step fix

  1. Open the T-MO app and check that the schedule switch is green.

  2. If you have just switched it on, wait for the next scheduled change - the set temperature will not change until then.

  3. To make a temporary change, press the + button to raise the temperature or the - button to lower it, or change it in the app.

  4. To save time, copy one day's settings to other days, or to your other T-MO thermostats.

  5. Still not right? Check what the display is showing. By default, it shows the temperature you have set, not the room or floor temperature. Press any button to see the measured temperature.

Tips to avoid it happening again

You do not need Wi-Fi for the schedule to run. The schedule is stored in the thermostat, so it keeps going if your internet drops. You can even set it up over Bluetooth, standing within about 5m of the thermostat, and then leave it.

Check the sensor mode for underfloor heating. If a floor probe was fitted, floor sensing is recommended. A thermostat left on power regulating mode runs the heating for a fixed share of the time and does not respond to temperature.

Check the location in the app. The thermostat follows the time zone of the property that you set up when you first open the app, not your phone, so a trip abroad will not upset your schedule.

Ask us to set it up. Once you are connected to Wi-Fi, we can do the rest remotely if you give us support access in the app. More below...

Still stuck?

We can set your thermostat up remotely. In the app, go to Settings > Support and tick "Grant support access", which gives our team access for 7 days. Call us on 01622 689 440, and we will ask you a few questions about your electric underfloor heating and how you'd like it to work. We'll then set your thermostat up for you remotely. Nice and easy!

Any wiring checks must be done by a competent electrician with the power safely isolated.
