1. Is electric underfloor heating expensive to run?

The daily cost of running your electric underfloor heating system will also vary depending on your chosen installation build-up, whether you have included heat loss reducing insulation, your chosen running temperature and program settings and also the current cost of electricity in your region. 2. What are the real differences between electric underfloor heating and radiators?

Radiators:

  • Traditional radiators distribute heat unevenly throughout a room, resulting in drafts, hot heads and cold feet.

3. Does electric underfloor heating take long to install?

In fact the majority of our electric underfloor heating solutions can be installed in just one day (depending on the size of the space). A general rule of thumb is to allow time for adhesives to fully cure before switching your system on. Which usually takes 1-2 weeks.

4. Is electric underfloor heating safe in bathrooms?

Absolutely yes! It is perfectly safe to install either our mesh or membrane underfloor heating system in a bathrooms. ThermoSphere Mesh is protected to IP68 standards which means it can be placed in zone 1 of a bathroom with no issues. The heating cables have a tough fluoropolymer coating on the outside and internal conductors, a continuous armoured earth sheath and multi-strand twin conductors. These types of system must be protected by a suitably rated RCD. ThermoSphere Membrane can be used as a fully waterproof solution which is ideal for wetrooms. Remember to install the thermostat away from water sources.

5. What happens if something goes wrong with my electric underfloor heating?

There are no moving parts to an electric underfloor heating system and cable faults are extremely rare, and generally occur if damaged during the installation process.
