The Island is located at the northern end of Croydon and boasts a 17th floor penthouse apartment which was described as the ‘most expensive flat in Croydon‘. The building was designed to contain 20 floors of luxury apartments and was part of the Croydon Vision 2020 regeneration plan.

The project required electric underfloor heating throughout the entire development of 187 apartments and 11 luxury penthouses. The screed layer was designed to be 30 to 40mm thick which presented a challenge as standard in screed heating cables require a minimum thickness of around 65mm. Our proposal was to install a 17W/lm (80W/m2) cable which were labelled in accordance with the agreed schedule of works, packaged up in floors and despatched in sequence to arrive on site when needed.

This flexible and tailored approach to fulfilling the order simplified the project making everything easy for the project managers and fitters on site. ThermoSphere‘s complete solution enabled the project to continue on track whilst saving a considerable amount of time and expenditure.
